25th Jan - CNY's Eve
the usual reunion dinner at home with yu sheng and steamboat
played a little family mahjong together (heehee, won a few games) while watching the countdown television programme on ch8.

26th Jan - 初一
it was church in the morning before having the traditional ALL VEGETABLE breakfast with a bowl of rice which we would always have on the first day of CNY.

Visiting began with uncle's place being our 1st stop followed by a sumptuous lunch at uncle/aunt's place for a feast of traditional shanghainese dishes, and not forgetting her specialty - red bean soup for dessert. spells y-u-m(:

moved on to another uncle's house before heading home to change, then it was off again to godsis's house for dinner (steamboat).

nanny lost weight due to my granddad's parting and she has been under mild depression for the past 2 weeks. And while talking to her about granddad which she initiated (not my fault for bringing up that topic), I could tell she was trying her best to hide her sorrows especially when she showed me the funeral photo album.

14th Feb will be the 100th day
It will be the time for me to cut that red string from my wrist and place it where it belongs.

Did a little bit of my report before heading down to my aunt's place after lunch, and i swear her house is like a little 'Botanic Gardens'. A really beautiful garden with so many colourful flowers complimenting well with a magnificent greenery landscape at the background. Totally breath-taking! And it so happened that I was wearing a flowery dress with flower earrings.

Next, was our second and last stop for the day over at 3rd aunt's place before heading to Botanic Gardens to check out on the best spots for sis's wedding photo shoot. WOW! Can't believe it she's getting married soon. So excited(:

Anyway, putting all these aside first, Chinese New Year's finally here and all the decos + goodies are done but let's take a look a week back...

This CNY, 8-ight decided to have a class reunion dinner together but I guess majority already had plans of their own. Nevertheless, 8-ight, dickson and jem carried on the reunion dinner as planned and it turned out pretty successful I must say except the part where there were still so much leftovers (even though yours truly being the biggest 'monster' in the group could not consume the food any longer - gave up) as well as where shirley wasn't able to attend the dinner with us.

so the girls went for some grocery shopping earlier in the day to get all the necessary items for the steamboat.

then it was down to serious business with all the washing and cutting

One month passed and its our 3rd month. well, basically I wasn't expecting anything from YOU♥ cuz he was in school having his usual monday trainings, while I was busy finishing up my report. Totally NOT knowing he was actually making his way over to my place. The next thing was a call from him saying if i could come out of the house for a while, and I replied with a very big question mark on my face, "HUH?! is this some kinda joke or what?"

I can't believe he traveled all the way from school after training, packed his million & one things, made his way to JP to get the cakes, then head over to my place without me suspecting a thing. He always has his ways to get me every time. Nevertheless, I too have my ways but that's another story.

Well, here's his side of his story into surprising me (extracted from his post.LAZY ME!)

"The date is 19th January 2009, our 3rd month anniversary, since C & I got together, not considering the strange "stalker & the stalked" relationship we had between us for a duration of one year...

Today is also a Monday, which means there is Dragonboat training back in school, in the evening. A good time to surprise C... as she will think I'll be spending the night over at my hostel after training. They say the best time to surprise someone is when he/she is totally caught off guard! Well, it's time to set the Plan into motion...

Actually the plan was a very simple one, it was to forget about the usual 'after-training dinner' @ Can 2 & quickly run off back to Hall, take a quick shower, grab the necessary stuffs & take a bus out of "Pulau Ulu NTU". And then grab some cakes from Bakerzin @ Jurong Point & head off to Serangoon Gardens... for the big surprise!

Never will she expect my appearance, as I continued our usual exchange of SMS'es after training... hehe. Of course the train ride from Boon Lay to Serangoon was not an easy one... especially when you're feeling tired & sleepy after a tough training session, and still have to hold onto a box of cakes in fear that at any one moment, it might just fall onto the floor. Haha... if that happened, then it's Good Game...

Now the whole gist of the surprise plan was to celebrate our anniversary together before the clock strikes twelve midnight, so it was pretty much a race against time. Fortunately, I was able to reach the nearby park around her house & set up the necessary arrangements. The funny thing was while I was setting up cylume sticks on the ground... this Bangla passing by the area, stopped, got curious over what I was doing & invited himself over to see what I was doing... By the time I was done, I was thinking if he was gonna stay around & see the whole "show" when I invite C over...

Anyway, thankfully he went off when I was making the call to ask C out of her house... Initially, there was some worry that Auntie won't allow her to go out so late, but knowing that it was our monthiversary, she gave the "go ahead"... Thanks Auntie! =) Promise it won't happen too often...

So I asked C to make her way to the park, while I went to meet her along the way. Once we arrived at the entrance to the park, I told her to shut her eyes & I placed my hands over her eyes, to ensure No Peeking. Then I walked her over to the bench where we usually sit & sat her down carefully on the bench, asked her no matter what, don't peek! Don't ruin all the fun... Haha. Then I lit the candles on the cakes & sung her a "stupid song" for our 3rd month anniversary... which no one will get to hear about it in the future Hahaha. After that, we held hands together & made a wish, and blew out the candles. And next, we devoured the cakes greedily while taking pictures at the same time...

But unfortunately, mere pieces of cakes are not enough to satisfy my hunger since I've yet to have dinner at that moment. So we walked down the street to the about-to-close Chomp Chomp to take away Chicken Chop back to C's place for dinner... (Yes, auntie gave permission for me to stay over too, cuz it was way past midnight by then & there were no more buses back home). Now now, before all your thoughts start floating to those dark, dirty places... I slept on the couch in the living room downstairs, while C slept on her own bed in the room above. =P

And so marks the end of an lovely 3rd month anniversary celebration before the day itself passes at the strike of midnight..."
